Emergency Room RN — Night Shift | Clifton Springs, NY | 13-Week Contract

This role is based in a medical Emergency Department that includes a dedicated Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) unit, staffed by ED nursing and PCT staff. The CPEP is divided into two areas: an evaluation space and an Extended Observation space. Patients are triaged and medically cleared before entering the CPEP. Night shift staff may cover up to 12-hour blocks in the CPEP space, with security present in the ED at all times.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Float required

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Adults, adolescents, pediatrics, geriatrics, and infants
• Diagnoses include MI, STEMI, CHF, COPD, CVA, drug overdose, behavioral health crises, sepsis, and general acute/chronic conditions
• Skills utilized: , procedural sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, central line care, intubation, and psychiatric holds

Interdisciplinary Support

Physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand at time of submission — required
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (required); TNCC, CPI preferred
• Electronic health record experience required
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• First-time travelers accepted
