Emergency Room RN — Travel Contract | Rochester, NY

Shift: Mid | 3×12-Hour (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks | Start Date: November 2, 2026

This combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department manages a high volume of patients across mixed acuity levels, treating presentations that include CVA, multisystem organ dysfunction, drug overdose, psychiatric holds, and complex cardiac events. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including rapid response, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and radiology.

Shift & Scheduling

• Three 12-hour mid shifts per week (15:00–03:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling considered but not guaranteed
• Float to other units when census warrants
• Minimal requested time off preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills

• Phlebotomy and IV placement (mandatory competency)
• Central line care and management
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytics; IV vasopressors
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• BiPAP/CPAP management; 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Isolation precautions/PPE; CVA management
• Psychiatric hold and suicidal patient care

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ED experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Active New York RN license required at time of submission — no pending licenses accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Electronic health record experience required
• Foreign education must be disclosed at time of submission
