Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract
Rochester, NY | Mid Shift 3x12 (15:00–03:00) | 13-Week Contract
This high-volume combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department sees a broad patient population across all age groups — neonates through geriatrics — and manages a wide range of acuity levels within a mixed/shared assignment model.
Shift & Scheduling
- Mid shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
- Float required when census warrants
- Block scheduling will be considered but is not guaranteed
- Minimal requested time off preferred; no more than 10 days RTO per contract
Required Certifications
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
Clinical Skills Required
- Phlebotomy and IV insertion (mandatory competencies for all RNs)
- Central line care and management
- Blood product administration
- Continuous IV sedation and IV paralytics
- IV vasopressors and emergency medications
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- CVA management, BiPAP/CPAP, 12-lead ECG acquisition
- Psychiatric holds, suicidal patient care, drug overdose management
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience
- Active New York RN license required at time of submission
- Electronic health record experience required
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
- All age groups experience required (neonates through geriatrics)
Scrub Color: Navy and white combination
Orientation: Approximately 16 hours; pre-start modules required (up to 10 hours total)
