Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Adult) | Night Shift | Rochester, NY
This 13-week travel contract places you in a high-acuity adult emergency department managing a broad range of emergency diagnoses across adult and geriatric populations. The unit operates 24/7 and includes dedicated resources for pediatric, trauma, and crisis intervention cases.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required, as needed
- Up to 10 days of pre-approved time off permitted
Certifications & Licensure
- Active New York single-state RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state)
- BLS, ACLS, and valid NIHSS required
- PALS and TNCC preferred
Required Clinical Skills
- IV therapy: blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance
- IV vasopressor management; CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
- Cardiac monitoring: dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Neurological emergencies: CVA/stroke, TBI, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury
- Full emergency scope: , procedural sedation, gunshot wounds, ortho trauma, drug overdose, acute psychiatric presentations
- Isolation precautions and PPE
Unit Details
- Floating required within skillset
- Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white
- Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
- First-time travelers accepted
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
