About the Unit
This Level III NICU cares for neonates 27 weeks gestational age and above. NICU RNs are an active part of the delivery team — attending high-risk, preterm, and meconium deliveries, performing neonatal resuscitation in the OR, and managing admissions. Neonates under 27 weeks are stabilized and transferred. The unit is supported by respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services.
Clinical Skills Required
- UAC/UVC management, arterial line management, chest tube management
- Bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen delivery systems
- Neonatal sepsis workup, meconium aspiration, respiratory distress syndrome
- Phototherapy, hyperbilirubinemia management, thermoregulation
- Surfactant and steroid administration, neonatal dosage calculations
- Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage); breastfeeding support
- IV placement, central line blood draws, phlebotomy
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Level III NICU experience (3 years preferred)
- Active BLS and NRP certifications
- Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Must be able to attend deliveries and perform admissions (hard stop)
- Weekends and on-call required

- Scrub color: Royal blue or navy blue

- Holiday commitment: 3 of 5 (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
