Cardiac Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Augusta, GA
Contract: 9 Weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
This fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients across a broad range of cardiovascular and medical diagnoses, including CHF, post-MI, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization, dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, peripheral vascular disease, and renal failure. Peritoneal dialysis experience is a plus.
Certifications Required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Key Clinical Skills
- Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration (milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem, lidocaine, Bumex, heparin)
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
- Central line, PICC, and peripheral IV care; IV insulin protocols
- BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
- Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, blood product administration
- Pre- and post-cardiac surgery/cath care; pacemaker management (temporary and permanent)
- Wound care/wound vac; surgical drains
Scheduling & Expectations
- Every-other-weekend requirement; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Floating within cardiac telemetry or comparable units as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Holiday coverage expected based on number of holidays falling within the assignment period
- All requested time off (max 7 days) must be finalized at time of submission; no RTO during orientation week
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Orientation: 24 hours
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (first-time travelers considered)
- Georgia RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Full compliance documents due Tuesday prior to start date
