Medical-Surgical Travel RN — Night Shift | Saratoga Springs, NY
This 13-week travel contract places you on a Medical-Surgical unit caring for an adult and geriatric patient population. The unit runs a night shift schedule (19:00–07:30), three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekend coverage required.
Unit Scope
The unit manages a general med-surg census with an emphasis on the following clinical skills:
- Port access and management
- Blood product administration
- Central line and PICC line care
- Colostomy/ileostomy management
- Feeding tube care
- Heparin and insulin administration
- Phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
- Total joint replacement care
- Wound care and wound vac management
- Isolation precautions and PPE
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (candidates from specified surrounding counties are not eligible)
Onboarding Notes
- 36-hour orientation
- Required online modules must be completed by the Wednesday before your start date
- An EKG competency exam will be required prior to starting
