Labor & Delivery RN – 13-Week Travel Assignment
About the Role
The facility is a teaching hospital seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week assignment beginning late October. You'll work day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) on a 3x12-hour schedule, providing compassionate care across the full spectrum of obstetric services.
Your Responsibilities
You'll rotate through multiple roles within the obstetric unit:
- Labor & Delivery nursing for high-risk and standard deliveries
- Circulating for cesarean sections
- Neonatal resuscitation (baby nurse/baby catcher)

- High-risk antepartum/postpartum care
The unit handles over 300 deliveries monthly, including vaginal deliveries, high-risk cesarean sections, multiples, D&C procedures, IUPC placement, and intrauterine fetal demise preparation. You'll support patients ages 13–60 with daily census of 15–20.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years L&D RN experience (3 years required for first-time travelers)
- Active California nursing license at time of submission
- ACLS, BLS, NRP
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Ability to float between L&D, circulator, baby nurse, , and high-risk antepartum roles
- Every-other-weekend requirement (minimum 6 weekend shifts)
- No scheduling requests accommodated; flexibility essential
- Two professional references from the past year (supervisor or higher)
Additional Details
- 36-hour orientation
- No on-call requirement
- Maximum 2 weeks total time off; none in first 2 weeks
