Labor & Delivery RN – 13-Week Contract
Start Date: October 2026 | Shift: Days, 3x12-hour (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) | Location: Los Angeles, CA
About the Role
Join a busy teaching hospital labor & delivery unit managing high-risk obstetric cases. You'll rotate through L&D, circulator, baby nurse, , and high-risk antepartum roles, working with a diverse patient population (ages 13–60) and delivering 300+ babies monthly.
Clinical Scope
- Vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including high-risk and multiple gestations
- High-risk antepartum and postpartum care
- Fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, and fetal scalp electrode placement
- Intrauterine fetal demise (IUFD) delivery and postmortem preparation
- Management of preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placental abruption, postpartum hemorrhage, and preterm labor
- Neonatal resuscitation and support
- Breastfeeding support and lactation care
Requirements
- License: Active California RN license required (no pending or temporary licenses)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years L&D nursing (first-time travelers require 3+ years)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (preferred)
- Flu Vaccine: Required—no exemptions
- Flexibility: Every-other-weekend requirement; no scheduling requests accommodated
Schedule & Logistics
- Day shift only; no on-call
- 36-hour orientation
- Maximum 2 weeks unpaid time off; none allowed in first 2 weeks
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams
