Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract. You'll provide direct patient care on a busy med/surg stepdown unit with the potential to float to related units and the emergency department when needed to support the same patient populations.
Schedule & Shift Details
- 3x12-hour rotating shifts: Day (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) and Night (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
- Shifts may rotate based on operational needs; the facility will work to honor scheduling preferences when possible
- You must be available to work at least every other holiday
Clinical Scope
You'll care for post-surgical and acute medical patients on telemetry monitoring. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, and coordinated interdisciplinary care. Float assignments may include related units and the ED caring for similar patient acuity levels.
Requirements
- 1+ year permanent experience in medical-surgical or stepdown nursing
- Active licenses & certifications: Permanent Ohio or compact state RN license; BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification (all current and in hand at submission)
- Competency assessments: You'll complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (passing score required; maximum 2 attempts)
- Background clearance: BCI/FBI clearance required within 48 hours of contract signing
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, or supervisor in this specialty (from past 12 months)
