Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care Unit
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Full-time
About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Intermediate Care (IMC) unit. You'll provide routine and complex care to patients requiring close monitoring and skilled nursing interventions. Working independently, you'll assess patient needs, execute the nursing process, and manage contingencies in a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor for effectiveness and side effects
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Educate patients and families; identify learning needs and available resources
- Delegate and coordinate care with other team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain competency through required organizational validations
Requirements
- RN license in Texas or compact state
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ACLS certification (AHA) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- 1+ year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
Onboarding
New hires complete orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by an experienced staff member. You'll validate entry-level and unit-specific competencies before working independently.
