Travel RN – Medical Surgical Telemetry | Philadelphia, PA

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This telemetry unit cares for a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients presenting with trauma, neurologic, neurosurgical, and oral surgery diagnoses. The unit operates at a consistent daily census with strong interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• One summer and one winter holiday required
• No block scheduling; no on-call requirement
• Floating possible if census drops or staffing needs arise on another unit

Requirements

• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Valid state license at time of submission
• First-time travelers welcome

Clinical Skills

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and continuous telemetry monitoring
• IV and oral insulin protocol management
• Heparin administration
• Feeding tube and tracheostomy care
• PICC line management and IV insertion
• Wound care and wound vac
• Phlebotomy and oxygen administration
• Use of rapid response and code teams

• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Contract duration: 13 weeks
• Pennsylvania fingerprinting required within one week of contract signing
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
