ICU Registered Nurse – Day Shift

Position Overview

The facility's ICU is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekends required. This role includes floating to other critical care areas as needed.

Requirements

• Current RN license in South Carolina (must be valid at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• 2 supervisory references
• Availability to work some holidays

Clinical Scope

You'll manage high-acuity patients with diverse diagnoses including cardiac and respiratory arrest, acute stroke, trauma, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, neurosurgical cases, and end-of-life care. Your responsibilities include:

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line and arterial line care
• Continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ventilator management and ABG interpretation
• Specialized procedures such as CT tube insertion, EVD drains, and CRRT
• Isolation precautions and suctioning

Support Team

You'll collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and other clinical partners.

Important Notes

• Minimize time-off requests, especially during the first two weeks
• Floating within the hospital and to affiliated facilities is required
• Pre-assignment online modules (approximately 2 hours) required
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
