Critical Care RN – Cardiovascular ICU
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Critical Care RN for a cardiovascular intensive care unit. You'll provide direct patient care in a high-acuity setting managing post-operative open heart surgery and transplant patients, with exposure to ECMO and advanced hemodynamic support.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- 48 guaranteed hours per week
- 6-week contract
Clinical Scope
This is a busy, high-acuity unit. You'll care for post-cardiac surgery patients, transplant recipients, and critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions. Float assignments between units are expected; flexibility with scheduling is essential.
Requirements
- Current RN license
- Minimum 3 years critical care experience
- Open heart surgery, transplant, or ECMO experience preferred
- Strong background in a high-volume academic medical center
- Previous travel nursing experience highly desirable
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with electronic health records
