Med/Tele RN – 12-Hour Days
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Every Other Weekend
Unit: Medical/Telemetry
Contract: 6 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Position Overview
Join a close-knit Med/Tele team in a rural healthcare setting. This unit cares for patients with conditions including CHF, diabetes, ia, and chronic kidney disease. You'll work in a stable environment with consistent leadership and a strong reliance on travel nurses as part of the care team.
Requirements
- License: Current RN license (state of assignment)
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS required
- Experience: Minimum 18+ months of recent Med/Tele nursing experience; rural hospital experience preferred
- Skills: Strong communication, time management, and ability to read telemetry strips
Clinical Scope
- RN responsibilities include reading telemetry strips and titrating Heparin drips
- Access to respiratory support equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)
- Charge Nurse, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators on-site for support
Scheduling & Expectations
- 12-hour shifts scheduled by manager; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- Every other weekend required; holidays required
- No call/standby
- Float to all med/surg units and potentially PCU for telemetry holds
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Orientation: 2 shadowing shifts included
