Registered Nurse
Observation Unit RN — Zanesville, OH | 13-Week Contract
This travel RN role is based in an Observation unit with float responsibilities across Med-Surg specialty floors, including Respiratory, Stroke, and Cardiac units. Candidates with appropriate ED experience may also be asked to float there.
Schedule
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Call is a rare occurrence
Start Date: November 16th (firm; no alternate start dates available)
Clinical Scope
The Observation unit manages patients requiring close monitoring and assessment pending admission or discharge decisions. Float assignments cover a range of medical-surgical acuities including respiratory, stroke, and cardiac patient populations. Telemetry reading and BCRA interpretation are essential — candidates will be assessed on this competency on day one.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of current, recent Telemetry or Med-Surg RN experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in current EMR documentation (no refresher training available on-site)
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to read Telemetry/BCRA (competency tested on day one)
Additional Notes
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week contract period
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; post-confirmation RTO requests cannot be accommodated
