Cardiac Telemetry RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its cardiac and stroke unit. This is a fast-paced environment managing high-acuity cardiac and cerebrovascular patients with a high census turnover.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15)
- Every other weekend required, plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 6-week period
- Call requirement: Yes (frequency varies with census)
- Float requirement: Yes, within the facility
- Contract: 13 weeks or longer; end date 2/27/2027
- 36-hour orientation (must attend daily during week one)
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
The unit specializes in pre- and post-cardiac care, including pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillators, cardiac catheterization, and peripheral vascular interventions. You'll manage patients with stable post-procedure status, dysrhythmias, CHF, unstable angina, and new stroke/TIA cases. The unit handles 78–90 patient turnovers weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar high-acuity cardiac environment
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Strong IV access, telemetry, and cardiac drip management skills (Cardizem titration required)
- Comfort managing vasoactive drips and interpreting dysrhythmias
- Ability to handle 5–6 patient assignments

- Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs; no open-toe shoes
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
- Up to 7 days pre-approved time off; no RTO during first week
