Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 – 07:15)

Location: Salisbury, NC

Contract Duration: 16 weeks

Start Date: October 19, 2026

About the Role

The facility's cardiac and stroke unit is seeking an experienced RN to join a high-acuity telemetry team. This is a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover—expect to manage 78–90 patient admissions per week.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

You'll care for adults requiring cardiac and stroke monitoring and intervention, including:

  • Pre/post pacemaker implantation and cardiac catheterization
  • Implanted cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD) and TR band management
  • Unstable angina, low-risk chest pain evaluation, and CHF
  • New CVA and TIA patients
  • Dysrhythmia management and multi-drip titration (Cardizem, Dopamine, Amiodarone)
  • Stable post-interventional peripheral vascular and cardiac procedures
  • COVID-positive patients on high-flow oxygen and non-invasive ventilation

Staffing & Schedule

  • Call: Required; frequency based on census
  • Float: Yes
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend; 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 6-week period
  • On-Call Time Off: Maximum 7 days pre-approved (no holidays); RTO unavailable first week

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar high-acuity cardiac unit
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Skills: IV placement, telemetry interpretation, cardiac drip titration, arterial line management, pacemaker care, TR band monitoring
  • EKG Testing: Required prior to start
  • Orientation: 36 hours; daily availability required week one

Dress Code

Navy blue or white scrubs (or mix); Novant t-shirts permitted. Matching jackets (no fleece). No crocs with holes.
