Monday–Friday | Days | 13-Week Contract
This travel PT role operates within a critical access setting serving a skilled nursing population with an average length of stay of 14 days. The position floats between inpatient and outpatient care, all under one hospital license.
Schedule & Contract Details
- Shifts: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- No weekends, no call
- Guaranteed hours: 40 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks (84 contract weeks noted; confirm with your recruiter)
- Holiday coverage may be required on a rotating basis
Clinical Scope
- Inpatient diagnoses: acute/observation, skilled nursing, wound care, debility, orthopedic, and neurological conditions
- Outpatient diagnoses: general PT caseload including fractures, orthopedic/sports injuries, neck pain, and amputations (~10–15% neuro)
- No acutely ill patients at this campus; complex cases are transferred to a sister facility
- Productivity expectation: 24 units per 8-hour day (approximately 7 treatment hours)
- Active involvement in discharge planning, treatment reassessment, and interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Wound care experience preferred but not required
- May be asked to precept as needed
Requirements
- Active Texas PT license and national licensure required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 6 months of experience (new graduates considered)
- IP/OP experience preferred
- Scrub color: maroon (not provided by the facility)
Two full-time staff PTs are on-site to support the traveler and absorb cases outside the traveler's experience base.
