Oncology RN – Bone Marrow Transplant Unit
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Oncology RN for its Bone Marrow Transplant unit. This 13-week assignment runs 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM shifts, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekend work and floating to other units as needed are part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of oncology nursing experience
- Cancer care and bone marrow transplant experience required
- BLS certification
- Proficiency with mediports, PICCs, and central lines
- Ability to float per facility floating policy
Preferred Skills
- Chemotherapy certification
Clinical Scope
You'll manage high-acuity transplant patients, performing chemotherapy administration, central line access and draws, mediport management, and CHG baths including central line dressing changes. You'll work alongside an oncology team dedicated to comprehensive cancer care.
Dress Code
Navy scrubs required. Hair must be clean and neat with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches, and sideburns should be clean and trimmed. Tattoos should be covered when possible. Visible piercings other than ears are not permitted.
What You Need to Know
All travelers must be prepared to float per facility policy. This is a fast-paced, specialty unit requiring strong clinical skills and adaptability.
