Oncology RN – Bone Marrow Transplant Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for its Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit in San Antonio, TX. This is a 13-week contract assignment working 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM shifts with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Clinical Scope
You will provide direct patient care in a specialized oncology setting, managing high-acuity cancer patients undergoing bone marrow transplant. Your responsibilities include:
- Chemotherapy administration
- Central line, mediport, and PICC line access and maintenance
- Central line dressing changes and lab draws
- CHG baths and line care protocols
- Patient education and symptom management
Requirements
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of oncology experience
- BLS Certification
- Experience with mediports, PICCs, and central lines
- Cancer care experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Chemotherapy certification
What to Expect
- Float assignments as needed
- Weekend and call requirements to be discussed at interview
- Navy scrubs required
- Professional appearance standards (neat hair, trimmed facial hair, covered tattoos, no visible piercings except ears)
