Medical-Surgical / Observation Unit — Registered Nurse (Nights)
Morgantown, WV | 13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
About the Unit
This acute care observation unit manages a high-volume, diverse patient population across a combined floor setting. The unit sees a significant patient turnover — approximately 10–12 patients per day — requiring nurses who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Common diagnoses include cardiac conditions, IDDM, COPD, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and pain management.
Clinical Expectations
- Titration of Heparin drips and other titratable infusions required on the floor
- Telemetry monitoring is present; RNs must independently read and interpret rhythm strips (tele techs are on-site to support)
- No ventilators on this unit; Respiratory Therapy is in-house 24/7
- Charge Nurse present each shift; House Supervisor in-house 24/7
- Nurse aides available each shift to support patient care
Schedule & Requirements
- 12-hour night shifts | 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday shifts possible
- 2-shift cancellation allowance per contract period
Certifications Required
- BLS and ACLS (both required at time of submission)
Additional Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks

- BSN not required
- WV license required (agency will wait for licensure)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
