Emergency Room RN — 13-Week Night Shift Contract

Garden City, KS | 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This Emergency Department position supports a busy community ED managing a diverse adult and pediatric patient population presenting with abdominal pain, chest pain, dyspnea, fever, headache, and extremity injuries. The unit operates with a dedicated area, separate psychiatric/seclusion rooms, and in-house security available around the clock.

Contract Details

• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Cancellation Policy: Up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• Holiday requirements apply
• Float within zone may be required in extreme circumstances

Required Certifications

BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS

Clinical Scope

• Common drips: cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
• Respiratory equipment management: ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• RNs responsible for reading their own cardiac monitor strips
• Lab draws shared between RNs and phlebotomy
• Charge nurses carry patient assignments; ancillary support is shift-dependent

Additional Requirements

• Must be in-state for the week of orientation
• Valid driver's license required; must reside within 60 miles of the facility
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• BSN not required
