Labor & Delivery RN — Nights | Smyrna, TN

This Women's Services unit is a personalized, patient-centered L&D environment built around a laborist team model, with dedicated CRNA and midwife support in-house 24/7 and OB on call. The unit emphasizes shared decision-making and individualized birth experiences, including active promotion of vaginal birth opportunities aligned with patient preference. Couplet care is practiced in the postpartum unit, keeping mother and newborn together to support breastfeeding — with donor milk available when needed. On-site NICU support with a dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is available around the clock and attends high-risk deliveries as needed.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts per month
• Guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Contract: 13 weeks (start August 24, 2026)

Clinical Scope

• OR circulating, IUPC, FSE placement
• MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management
• Nitrous oxide analgesia
• Float to mother/baby or task-based assignments outside the department as needed

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Fetal monitoring proficiency

Helpful but Not Required

• Spinning Babies training
• STABLE certification

Dress Code

• Hot pink top (preferred), black bottom

The unit operates with a unit secretary and scrub tech on staff. Candidates should bring a genuine commitment to high-quality, patient-centered labor care and a collaborative approach to supporting each patient's birth preferences.
