Echocardiographer / Echo Sonographer — Evening Shift | Des Moines, IA

Contract Details

• Duration: 12 weeks
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
• No call, no weekends
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

The Role

This position supports an inpatient echocardiography service seeing an average of 7 cases per day, with volume variability. You will work independently with minimal supervision, performing echo studies on adult patients ranging from 18 to 100+ years of age. Float coverage across multiple campuses may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of echocardiography experience (24 months required for first-time travelers)
• Current ARDMS (RDCS) certification
• Strong proficiency with equipment
• Experience with Xcelera charting
• Level II Trauma experience
• Current or recent inpatient hospital experience highly preferred
• Level I Trauma experience preferred

Submissions Must Include

• Resume reflecting 24 months of current Echo Tech experience
• Discipline-specific skills checklist
• ARDMS certificate
• Valid driver's license
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or manager within the past 24 months

Dress Code

Solid gray, navy blue, or black scrub tops and bottoms.

Holiday Coverage

Travelers are expected to work 1–2 of the upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
