Medical-Surgical & Oncology Nurse – 13-Week Travel Assignment
Position Overview
Join an interdisciplinary clinical team providing direct patient care in a busy medical-surgical and oncology unit. You'll care for patients across orthopedic, urologic, general surgical, oncology, and medical diagnoses—managing high-acuity cases and supporting complex treatment plans.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 36-hour weekly guarantee
- Every third weekend off
- 13-week contract
- Orientation dates: 10/26 or 11/9
Clinical Scope
You'll administer and manage critical drips including heparin, PCA, and epidural anesthesia (chemotherapy administration if certified). Float capability across the same discipline at local campuses may be required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical and/or oncology nursing experience
- Active BLS (AHA, ARC, or US Military certification)
- Active ACLS (AHA, ARC, or US Military certification)
- Active NIHSS (obtainable during onboarding)
- Valid driver's license
- Completed supervisory reference (within past 2 years)
- Discipline-specific skills checklist
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs
- First-time travelers welcome; prior travel experience preferred
- High-acuity care experience preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Winter holiday requirements: You'll work 2 of 3 (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day), with a maximum of 1 day off request during 11/25–11/29 and 12/23–12/27
