Float Pool RN – Medical/Surgical & Telemetry
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an RN to join a float pool providing support during surge periods across multiple inpatient units. You'll deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members.
Clinical Scope
You'll care for diverse patient populations including geriatric, adult medical/surgical, psychiatric, and telemetry patients. Your float assignments will include:
- Non-critical care inpatient units
- Behavioral Health
- Emergency Department (for boarded patients)
- CCU or ICU (if you have critical care experience)
Float rotations span the West Burlington Campus and may occasionally include Fort Madison or Henry County campuses.
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 hours/week with possible overtime
- Weekends: Every other weekend rotation
- Holidays: Every other holiday rotation required
- On-Call: Occasional call during low-census periods; must respond within one hour if called
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Essential Qualifications
- Current RN license
- ACLS certification
- EMR experience (12+ months in a similar unit)
- Willingness to self-study telemetry strips pre-assignment
- Ability to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia test during orientation
Note: You will be responsible for self-directed learning of telemetry strips before your start date and must successfully complete dysrhythmia competency testing during your first week.
