Float Pool RN — Medical/Surgical & Telemetry | West Burlington, IA

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (36 hours/week, overtime possible)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: November 9, 2026

This float pool position supports surge coverage across non-critical care inpatient units, with a night shift schedule and every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotation.

Patient Populations & Clinical Scope

Nurses in this role provide care to adult, geriatric, medical/surgical, psychiatric, and telemetry patients. Floating may include Behavioral Health units and the Emergency Department for boarded patients. Travelers with critical care backgrounds may also float to the ICU or step-down unit.

Float Requirements

• Float across non-critical care inpatient units within scope
• Multi-campus float may be required on occasion

Schedule Details

• 36-hour estimated work week with overtime potential
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Occasional on-call during low census; must be able to arrive on-site within one hour if called in

Requirements

• Active RN license
• ACLS certification required
• Recent experience in a comparable unit within the last 12 months required
• Telemetry competency required — candidates must self-study dysrhythmia strips upon acceptance and pass a Basic Dysrhythmia test during orientation prior to working in the float pool
