Medical/Surgical Nurse – 12-Hour Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking experienced Med/Surg RNs and LPNs for a 12-hour night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) on a busy medical/surgical unit. This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension.
Unit Details
Schedule & Expectations
- 12-hour nights, Friday–Sunday rotation
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other units to provide support is required
- No call or standby requirement
- Weekday and holiday rotations shared with permanent staff
Requirements
- Current BLS (AHA) certification
- NIHSS certification required for all RNs and LPNs
- ACLS and PALS recommended (not required)
- Strong med/surg background and travel nursing experience
- Valid driver's license
Orientation & Support
3–5 days of unit-specific training covering policies, charting systems, pharmacy, and lab procedures. A house supervisor manages assignments and staffing needs. Three nurse aides per shift provide unit support.
Dress Code
Scrubs in any color except camouflage or orange.
