Physical Therapist — Acute Care

Position Overview

The facility's inpatient physical therapy department is seeking a Physical Therapist for an 84-week contract. You'll deliver evaluations and treatment to a diverse patient population in an acute care setting, with a focus on cardiac, vascular, and orthopedic cases.

Schedule & Staffing

  • Shift: Flexible start between 7 am and 8 am, ending between 4 pm and 5 pm
  • Hours: Full-time (36 hours guaranteed)
  • Weekend commitment: One self-selected weekend shift per month
  • Current need: Monday–Friday, with flexibility for later start times

Clinical Details

  • Patient load: Approximately 10 patients per 8-hour day
  • Unit scope: Inpatient acute care evaluations and treatment
  • Float coverage: All inpatient units and the emergency department (NICU excluded)
  • Assignment model: Daily assignments typically limited to 1–2 floors to maintain continuity

Equipment & Resources

Basic rehabilitation equipment including portable parallel bars, stairs, Sara Stedy, ceiling lifts, and hyper lifts.

Requirements

  • License: New Hampshire Physical Therapy License (required at time of application)
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience: Acute care background required; vestibular experience preferred but not required
  • Dress code: Scrubs (no specific color)
