Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

About the Role
You'll provide direct nursing care in a high-volume emergency department, managing acute and trauma patients with critical thinking and decisive judgment. This role requires minimal supervision and thrives in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
- Record and communicate patient conditions to the healthcare team
- Coordinate care across nursing, physician, and ancillary disciplines
- Execute physician and nursing orders with precision
- Assess patients and collaborate on discharge planning needs
- Adhere to Standard Precautions and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing (required before hire date)
- BLS Provider certification (within 1 month of hire)
- Advanced Life Support certification (within 6 months of hire)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (within 6 months of hire, as applicable)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (required before hire, as applicable)
Unit Details
- Emergency department serving a high-volume patient population with 55,000–60,000 annual visits
- Trauma case mix with critical acuity levels
- Staffing model includes nurses, clerks, transporters, and patient care technicians
- Navy scrubs required
- Physician and nursing residency programs on-site
Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Standard onboarding requirements apply, including background check, drug screening, and required vaccinations.
