MedSurg/Telemetry Float Pool RN — Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
Location: Bridgeport, WV
Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Role
This float pool position covers multiple MedSurg/Telemetry units as well as a Critical Care unit. Float Pool RNs report to the clinical coordinator before shift start for their unit assignment. Most nurses are assigned a primary "parent unit" and receive telemetry patients appropriate to their scope of practice.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, cardiac catheterization recovery, ia, COPD, chronic renal disease, orthopedic conditions, and oncology (chemotherapy is administered by permanent staff only). CPAP and BiPap are present on units and managed by Respiratory Therapy.
Scheduling
- Every-other-weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
- Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
- Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS required
- Must pass a cardiac rhythm interpretation exam prior to starting
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
- No drip titration required
Unit Support
- Charge nurse present on all units; night charge carries a patient assignment
- CNAs available on all units
- Monitor techs available on most units
Orientation: 1–2 preceptored shifts
Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
