Telemetry Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced telemetry nurse to provide continuous cardiac monitoring and acute care to patients with cardiac and other acute conditions. You'll interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate care promptly. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond to rapid responses and codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and manage patients on telemetry units
• Interpret EKGs and cardiac rhythms; identify and respond to arrhythmias
• Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
• Assess and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on plan of care
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment plans
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Manage patient loads per facility acuity and staffing guidelines
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 18 months of telemetry/cardiac nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Experience managing cardiac medications
• IV insertion and PICC line experience preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
