Telemetry RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week, providing continuous cardiac monitoring and acute nursing care to patients with cardiac and other acute conditions.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 18 months of telemetry experience
- Demonstrated competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
- Experience with cardiac medications and drips
- Ability to insert IVs and PICC lines
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; identify and escalate arrhythmias
- Administer cardiac medications and antiarrhythmics per physician orders
- Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Participate in rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on care planning
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Manage a typical patient load based on unit acuity
