Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Telemetry Nurse for night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract. You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week) providing continuous cardiac monitoring and acute care to patients with cardiac and other complex conditions.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 18 months of telemetry experience
- Competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Experience with cardiac medications and monitoring
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret rhythms; identify and escalate arrhythmias
- Administer cardiac drips, antiarrhythmics, and other medications per physician orders
- Perform IV insertion and PICC line placement as appropriate
- Assess and respond promptly to patient condition changes
- Collaborate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and infection control/fall prevention protocols
