Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Location: Atlanta, GA
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) | 13-week contract
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 1+ years of telemetry experience
- Competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
- IV insertion and PICC line placement skills
Duties:
You'll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and acute nursing care to patients with cardiac and other acute conditions. Your responsibilities include:
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate care as needed
- Administer cardiac medications, drips, and antiarrhythmics per physician orders
- Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Perform IV insertions and PICC line placements as appropriate
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on care plans
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
This is a night-shift role on a busy telemetry unit. You'll work autonomously while maintaining strong teamwork with physicians and nursing colleagues.
