Telemetry Nurse — Night Shift
Location: Atlanta, GA
Schedule: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), three 12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours/week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
About the Role
Join the facility's telemetry unit to deliver continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with acute cardiac and other complex conditions. You'll work the night shift as part of a collaborative care team managing rhythm interpretation, medication administration, and rapid response to patient changes.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation; identify and escalate arrhythmias
- Administer cardiac medications, drips, and antiarrhythmics per physician orders
- Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Perform IV insertions and manage PICC lines as needed
- Participate in rapid response and code interventions
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment plans
- Ensure accurate EMR documentation, infection control, and fall prevention
- Manage a typical patient load per unit acuity standards
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS certification required
- At least 18 months of telemetry experience
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac rhythm monitoring and management
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
