Perioperative Nurse – Pre/Post-Operative Care
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced perioperative nurse for pre-operative assessment, intraoperative support, and post-anesthesia care recovery (PACU Phase I and II). You'll work in a busy outpatient surgery center performing general, orthopedic, urologic, and specialty procedures on patients of all ages who return home the same day.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: Primarily 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
- Flexible start times: Variable arrival between 6:00–8:30 AM based on daily department needs
- No weekends, no holidays, no on-call
- Must be flexible and willing to stay to complete your assigned cases
- You may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities to meet staffing needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience
- Current California RN license (compact license acceptable)
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong skills in airway assessment, conscious sedation monitoring, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, IV management, blood product administration, and pain management
- Experience with pre-op education, medication reconciliation, and discharge planning
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start date: ASAP
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Time off: Maximum 7 days RTO; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
