Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in a busy telemetry unit. This is a day shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) with every other weekend required.
Unit & Patient Population
You'll care for a diverse adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including:
- Cardiac: chest pain, elevated troponin, rule-out ACS, non-STEMI, uncontrolled Afib, CHF
- Neuro: CVA, TIA, seizure
- Respiratory: ia, COVID, COPD, TB
- GI/GU/Endocrine: SBO, GI bleed, appendicitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, acute renal failure, diabetes, UTI/urosepsis
- Surgical: hip/knee replacement, hysterectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy
Clinical Requirements
- Required Experience: Minimum 1 year with ventilated patients and tracheostomy management (required skill—please do not apply without this experience)
- Skills: Central line and PICC management, chest tube care, high-flow oxygen delivery, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, non-invasive airway support, PCA, renal failure care, and wound management
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Scheduling & Flexibility
- Every other weekend
- No on-call requirement
- Float requirement to med-surg as needed
- Guaranteed hours with facility able to call off once per two-week pay period
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Support & Resources
Strong interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and PT/social services. Safe patient handling equipment available.
Requirements for Submission
Valid compact state license required at time of submission. Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years. All RTO requests must be submitted upfront during initial application.
