Mother Baby / High-Risk OB – Travel RN

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract | Mission Hills, CA

This Mother Baby unit cares for a diverse obstetric population, including high-acuity antepartum and postpartum patients. The unit manages vaginal and cesarean deliveries, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, late preterm infants, and hyperbilirubinemia, and uses phototherapy and lactation support equipment regularly.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
  • Start date: ASAP (contract runs 13 weeks)
  • 24-hour orientation
  • Weekend commitment: 6 shifts per 12-week period
  • Holiday commitment: Must be available for 3 of 5 (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO must be submitted at time of candidacy

Float Requirements

Rotational float within the division only, to competency — including L&D for recoveries and NICU to assist with feeding, soothing, and infant care as directed. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of high-risk OB experience
  • Experience with magnesium sulfate and postpartum care
  • Competency in vaginal delivery, cesarean section, and high-risk antepartum care
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP (LA Fire Card also required)
  • Valid compact or California RN license — must be in hand at submission
  • First-time travelers welcome

  • Scrubs: Any color; L&D and OR scrubs provided by the facility
