Labor & Delivery / Mother Baby RN — Night Shift | Mission Hills, CA
This 13-week travel contract places you in a Magnet-designated acute care facility supporting high-risk obstetric and mother-baby patients. Start date is ASAP, with orientation totaling 24 hours.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
- Must commit to 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
- All RTO must be submitted at time of application; post-offer requests may not be granted
Clinical Scope
The unit manages vaginal and cesarean deliveries, high-risk antepartum care, postpartum recovery, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, late preterm infants, and hyperbilirubinemia. You will care for neonatal through adult patient populations and utilize phototherapy equipment and breast pump support.
Float Requirement
Rotational float within the division only, to competency level — L&D recoveries and NICU support (feeding, soothing, infant care as directed). Refusal to float may result in contract termination and forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
Required Certifications
- BLS
- NRP
- LA Fire Card
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of high-risk OB experience
- Demonstrated experience with magnesium sulfate and postpartum care
- Valid compact license in hand at time of submission
- First-time travelers considered
Scrubs: Any color; L&D and OR scrubs provided by the facility
Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services available on unit.
