Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week contract. You'll work in a busy surgical environment managing a diverse case load across multiple specialties with an average daily census of 22 cases.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x10 hour shifts: 14:30 – 23:00 (nights)
• OR 3x12 shifts available: Days or nights with rotating call
• Call requirement: 1 day per week; 1–2 weekends per 4–5 week schedule (30-minute response time)
• Start date: Late October 2026
• Orientation: Every other week on Friday

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience; 1+ year in-specialty (cardiac or general surgery)
• WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Must have both circulate and scrub experience

Clinical Scope

You'll support cases in:

• Cardiac and general surgery (colorectal resections, Whipples, liver resections)
• Vascular (aortic surgeries, bypasses, AV fistulas, embolectomies)
• Orthopedic (arthroscopies, total joints)
• ENT, urology, robotics, and gynecology
• Proficiency in vein harvesting and radial artery harvest required

Submission Requirements

• CV with work history and specialty skills checklist
• Current RN license verification
• 2 manager/charge nurse references (within past 2 years)
• Permanent address within 100 miles of the facility
• Full file due by noon Monday prior to start date

Notes

• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October–March); medical exemptions only
• COVID vaccine not required
• Former permanent employees of the health system must wait 2 years before returning as travelers
