Nuclear Medicine Technologist – PET/CT | Mission Viejo, CA
This 13-week travel assignment places a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in an acute care setting in Mission Viejo, CA. Float between two nearby sister facilities is required; refusal to float may affect guaranteed hours.
Shift & Schedule
- 4x10-hour days | 07:00–17:30
- Variable start times as early as 07:00
- Rotating weekend shifts (typically 1 weekend/month, up to 3–4 over the 13-week contract)
- Evening and rotating weekend call (on-call hours: 17:30–07:00)
- Must be available to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Clinical Scope
The department handles a full range of nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging across all age groups — neonates through geriatrics. Daily volume averages 6–7 PET/CT studies and approximately 9 general nuclear medicine studies. Procedures include:
- Cardiac, bone, renal, and V/Q scans
- Parathyroid and whole-body imaging
- Pharmacological and exercise stress studies
- Attenuation correction CT
- Pediatric nuclear medicine (preferred experience)
- IV starts and radioactive material handling/disposal
Required Credentials
- Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience
- BLS
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB, with valid California license (in hand at submission)
- CT Advanced Certification preferred
- PET experience highly preferred; first-timers accepted
