Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist
Position Overview
Join the interventional radiology suite for a 13-week contract performing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across all patient ages—pediatrics through geriatrics.
Schedule & Call
- 4×10-hour days: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Days may fluctuate based on operational needs
- Call required: 1–2 days per week, plus 1 weekend every 5 weeks
- Orientation: 24 hours (includes system training)
Clinical Scope
You'll scrub and circulate on high-complexity interventional cases including:
- Vascular interventions: angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, IVC filter placement/removal
- Biliary & GI: ERCP, cholecystostomy, gastrostomy
- Genitourinary: nephrostomy, ureteral stent placement, cystoscopy
- Other procedures: liver biopsy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, laser-assisted interventions, and endovascular work
- Vascular closure device management (Perclose, StarClose)
Requirements
- ARRT R certification required (RCIS acceptable with IR scrubbing experience)
- BLS certification
- California license in hand
- Travel experience required
- 1 year experience; first-time travelers accepted with strong fundamentals
- Dysrhythmia interpretation skills essential
- Comfortable with 4-room census and approximately 20 procedures daily
