Operating Room Nurse – Travel Contract

Specialty: General Surgery, Orthopedic Trauma, Neuro, Spine, Transplant Surgery

Location: Boston, Massachusetts

Shift & Schedule:

• 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Monday–Friday primary schedule
• Up to 2 weekends per month (call or working shifts)
• One short call shift weekly (3:00 AM – 7:00 AM or 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
• 30-minute on-call response time required
• Call shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays

Contract Details:

• 13 weeks | 40 hours per week
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (excluding on-call time)
• Start date: ASAP; compliance and orientation required (weekly orientations on Mondays)

Clinical Scope:

You'll work in a busy surgical environment managing high-acuity cases including orthopedic trauma, neurosurgery, spine procedures, organ transplants (kidney and liver), robotic surgery, bariatric surgery, major plastic reconstruction, and ENT. Responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating for general surgery, robotics, transplants, organ procurement, and trauma cases.

Requirements:

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• BLS certification
• Neuro, ortho trauma, and kidney transplant experience required
• Ability to float between facilities as needed

Important Notes:

• Must reside outside 50 miles of the facility
• Not eligible if worked at the facility as permanent or per diem staff within the last 6 months
• All RTO (time off) requests must be submitted at time of application
