Medical/Surgical RN — Night Shift | Fort Morgan, CO
13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed
This Med/Surg unit cares for a diverse acute patient population, including those presenting with congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, ia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.
What to Expect on the Unit
- RNs manage their own telemetry strips and are responsible for identifying and escalating concerning rhythms — no monitor techs on unit
- RNs titrate drips independently, including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
- Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and mechanical ventilation
- Charge nurse carries an assignment; one aide is available when the floor reaches 9 patients
- Experience in rural or lower-resource environments is strongly preferred
Schedule & Requirements
- 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per six-week schedule
- Holiday requirement: yes
- Float requirement: yes, determined by the nurse manager and department needs
- Must be in state and onsite for the week of orientation
- Must reside within 60 miles of the facility; valid driver's license required
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling both available
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks (91 contract weeks total)
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
- Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

BSN not required. Active Colorado RN license required at time of submission.
