Respiratory Therapist – 12-Hour Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 12-hour night shift (7 PM–7 AM) in acute respiratory care. This is a 13-week contract with every-other-weekend requirements. You'll work alongside a collaborative respiratory therapy team in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Clinical Scope

You'll provide respiratory therapy to a diverse inpatient population, managing 2–4 treatments per shift based on census and acuity levels (approximately 25–30 acuities per shift). Experience with both adult and pediatric patients is essential; NICU experience is preferred but not required.

Team & Support

A Charge RT and Lead Therapist are available to support clinical care and jump in with treatments as needed. Lead therapist coverage is available 1–2 days per week. Hospitalist and intensivist physicians are in-house with on-call coverage after hours. In-house pharmacy is available until 10 PM, with on-call pharmacist access 24/7. RT coverage is available 24/7.

Requirements

  • Current California Respiratory Therapist license
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Practical Details

  • Black scrubs
  • Floor-specific orientation: 1–3 days depending on experience
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week
  • Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
