Labor & Delivery Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a night shift role (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) in rural West Texas. This is a 13-week contract position.

Clinical Scope

You will manage comprehensive obstetric care across the continuum:

  • Antepartum monitoring and support
  • Labor management and delivery assistance
  • Postpartum recovery care
  • Nursery care and newborn assessment

The unit handles approximately 30–40 deliveries per month. You'll work independently and collaboratively with physicians and midwives to support safe, compassionate birth experiences.

Requirements

  • Current RN license (Texas)
  • Active Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
  • STABLE and intermediate fetal monitoring certifications
  • OB circulator experience preferred

Note: This role requires full L&D competency. Candidates with postpartum-only experience are not a fit for this position.

Schedule

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Standard work week: Sunday–Saturday
