Med/Surg RN – Night Shift | Ulysses, KS | 13-Week Contract
This Med/Surg unit manages a diverse acute care patient population including congestive heart failure, hypertension and chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, ia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
- Holiday requirement applies
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks | Start date: October 26, 2026
- The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts over a 13-week assignment
Clinical Requirements
- Active Med/Surg RN experience required
- Must be able to titrate drips: analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
- Certifications required: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
- BSN not required
Unit Details
- Remote telemetry monitoring in place; RNs are not required to read their own strips
- Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and mechanical ventilation
- Nurse aides available on unit
- Charge nurse carries an assignment
Float & Additional Expectations
- First to float as needed; may float within the broader zone in cases of extreme staffing need
- Floating determined by nurse manager and department needs
- Candidate must be within 60 miles of the facility and present in state for the full week of orientation
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
