Registered Nurse – Adolescent Behavioral Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse to join an inpatient adolescent behavioral unit serving children and adolescents ages 6–18. You'll deliver direct and indirect patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team, managing the day-to-day clinical and behavioral needs of patients with primary diagnoses including major depression and ADD/ADHD.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and provide patient education on treatment plans
- Monitor and manage patient behaviors throughout the unit
- Document daily patient care accurately
- Participate in and lead educational groups
- Collaborate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to Chemical Dependency/Detox as needed
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Valid Maine RN License
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience (1–3 years with adults preferred)
- CPI Training required
- Strong communication skills across all levels: patients, families, providers, and colleagues
- Ability to manage stressful situations and maintain professional boundaries
- Self-directed, reliable team player
Position Details
- Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts, days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Location: Lewiston, Maine
*Residency requirement: Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Lewiston.*
